Is Skribe an AI Court Reporter?

• No. Skribe is not an AI court reporter, we’re just using the latest technology to make everyone’s life a bit easier.
• We offer a non-stenographic recording alternative that leverages proven Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR) technology to support and enhance the deposition and transcription process. The result is a quick rough AI generated transcript that accompanies the video deposition, and a final human proofread version shortly after.
  
  

What Else You Should Know About Skribe’s Process:

• Skribe complies with all legal standards for non-stenographic depositions.
  Example: Fed. R. Civ. P. 30 – CaseText: FRCP – 30(b)(3)
• A certified notary from your state swears in the witness and provides technical support throughout the deposition.
• The video and audio of the event are recorded non-stenographically. We are a partner with Zoom and host our events there, nothing new for participants to use. Our events have a backup recording system in place to ensure a reliable recording.
• A rough AI-generated transcript is typically available on the same day, synced to the video, allowing near-immediate review.
• A final transcript, professionally proofread and legally formatted, is available in 5 days or less.
• Post-Event, witnesses and their attorneys may review a complimentary recording, exhibits, a view-only transcript, and complete a Statement of Changes (errata sheet).
  
  

Common Concerns:

• Does Skribe use Generative AI to create transcripts? No. Skribe employs proven ASR for transcription but does not use Generative AI to capture testimony or to create transcripts.
• Does Skribe offer any Generative AI features? Yes. Skribe offers optional features powered by Generative AI for post-deposition analysis and review. Data is handled in a secure manner and is not used to train Generative AI.
